The recent trout plant has anglers catching limits of fat Calvaras hatchery fish. The best bite has been from shore in Drakes Cove, E Point and Harveys Bay. Throwing Kastmasters, Panther Martins, Thomas buoyants and Rapalas all took rainbows to 3 lbs. PowerBait and 'crawlers also worked well for people soaking bait. Trollers fat lined a variety of lures around the log boom for limits, or near limits.

Bass fishing slowed with the cold front moving in and plummeting water temps, although there were fish reported on spinnerbaits and spoons. Catfish still in the mix and cut mackerel fished in Harvey's and Cachuma Bay took wiskerfish to 8 lbs. Crappie was slow last week, as were all panfish. Bow fishing for carp was a bit slower this week, but the few archers that ventured out did shoot a few, with an 8 lb. average reported.
