BASS
You gotta stay on your toes to catch those DVL bass. The bass went deep so fish were its steep. Pummel the points or be an island hopper to get a keeper or even a whopper. Fishing at 40 or 50 feet with an ice jig, drop shot, or Carolina rig can't be beat. Bass are biting drastic on plastic. Fish a straight tail, brush hog, or big worm to nail a lunker largemouth. Don't get nervous the trout will bring bass to the surface. Slam the east dam with big baits to bring in a bass on the blitz. Kenny Baldwin of highland caught his two biggest bass at 6 and 6.5 pounds fishing from shore with a producer plug. Nathan Guerrero of Temecula caught a 5.46 pound bass fishing with a nightcrawler. Kieth Buridge of Alta Loma caught an 8.8 pound largemouth fishing near the east dam with a brook trout Rapala. Pete Laban of Corona caught a 10.44 pound bass fishing with a Zplug on the north shore. Alex Tran of Westminster caught the biggest bass at the week at 12.20 pounds fishing with a Huddleston swimbait near the Eucalyptus trees.

TROUT
There aint a complaint about the trout. From boat or shore you can catch limit in a minute. Crawlers, Powerbait, and mini jigs are the way to spend your dollars. The marina cove is a treasure trove to catch a loco 'bow. The east dam is a grand slam to hook a stout trout. Shannon Hunter of Menifee caught a 6.92 pound trout fishing from shore with a mini jig. Victor Hernandez of Moreno Valley caught a 10.74 pound trout limit fishing from shore with nightcrawlers. Rick Johnson of Menifee caught a 5.5 pound trout fishing from shore with nightcrawlers. Brayden Phomohakdy of Winchester caught a 10.45 pound trout fishing from shore with a white mini jig. R.J. McCauley and Ryan Patterson of Riverside got a 21 pound trout limit with their biggest at 7.08 pounds fishing from shore with Powerbait. John Boatman of Yucaipa caught his biggest trout at 5.48 pounds fishing from shore with orange Powerworms. Angel Masgula of Murrieta caught a 5.68 pound trout fishing from shore with a roostertail. Robby Taggolt of Quail Valley caught the biigerst trout of the week at 12.43 pounds fishing from shore with a fly.

STRIPER
Striper fishing is a cakewalk after the trout stock. Big baits are bringing in some big weights. The east dam has been a traffic jam for those trying to blindside a lineside. What kind of lure to get a striper for sure? Lunker Punkers, LA sliders, Zplugs, Huddlestons, and BBZ are some to pick that'll do the trick. Don freeman of Perris caught two striper at 21.8 and 16.2 pounds fishing with a Zplug. Kenny Baldwin of Highland caught 4 striper between 9 and 11 pounds fishing from shore with a Producer plug. Roger San Lues of Diamond Bar caught a 17 pound striper fishing from shore with a AC plug.

CATFISH
There were few catfish reports this week, but that is not to say you can't get a fat cat. Fishing for a channel or blue it is cut bait the cats will pursue. Anchovies, Mackerel or shrimp won't leave your line limp. The attenuator is the best place to anchor to catch a cat just like that. Jake Altamirano fo Fontana caught a 8.71 pound catfish fishing from shore with nightcrawlers. Anthony Hernandez of Corona caught a 9.5 pound cat fishing with nightcrawlers. Kevin Shin of Riverside caught a 16 pound cat fishing from shore with mackerel.

PANFISH
Panfish anglers are wishing for better fishing. The panfish bite has slowed to a stop as surface temps continue to drop. It is nil on the bluegill, but the crappie is spotty. Fish the stairways along the dams with jigs or worms dropped to 25 feet for some crappie.
