Lake Sabrina will close this season on October 24th at 1:00pm unless the weather turns to winter. The kitchen will close the 17th. Fishing season ends November 15th. A huge thak you to the Department of Fish and Game - 2000 pounds of some real nice looking fish. Fishing out a bit from shore at the inlets with NightCrawlers, Jig, Flies and PowerBait was a sure way to get a fast limit as was trolling with flashers and a NightCrawler, WoolyBugger or just a NightCrawler. Aspen groves are still bright green. The cold of the storm caused a few of the leaves to go black, but there is still lot of color out there with even more to come.
Lake Sabrina Boat Landing Fall Hours:
Sunday - 7:00am to 6:00pm
Monday - 8:00am to 6:00pm
Tuesday - 8:00am to 6:00pm
Wednesday - 8:00am to 6:00pm
Thursday - 8:00am to 6:00pm
Friday - 8:00am to 6:00pm
Saturday - 7:00am to 7:00pm
As you probably guessed, Mother Nature decided to bring back Fall - temps are outstanding in the low 60s for highs and the low 40s for lows - looks like pretty much the same for the coming week. With the great weather, a tour bus from So. Cal showed up Saturday morning with a load of photographers and a packed parking lot and blocked the road for quite awhile. You can check www.weather.gov and enter Aspendell, CA on the site and it will give you a fairly good hint at the weather or check in with Howard at www.MammothWeather.com
The following USFS campgrounds are closed - North Lake, Sabrina Camp, Mountain Glen and Willow. There is a full hook-up RV campground - Creekside RV park which is on the road to South Lake. Not sure when the rest will close, but these are still open campgrounds are Bishop Park, Intake II, Big Trees, BitterBush, Forks and Four Jeffery. Remember your polarized dark glasses and sunscreen. Wash your hands after you applied sunscreen, bug juice or any other fu-fu juice. Only a few more weeks till Lake Sabrina Boat Landing closes up shop for another season depending on the weather. Fishing season ends November 15, 2010. The Lake Sabrina crew looks forward to seeing you.
