BASS
Largemouth had lockjaw this week leaving anglers struggling to capture the success seen in previous weeks. Most anglers would agree that DVL is still the best bass fishing in Socal. Successful anglers are on the move jumping from point to point fishing Carolina rigs, the drop shot, and ice jigs. Brush Hogs, reapers, and big worms work great for the C rig. Drop shot margarita mutilator, oxblood, or hologram shad worms. Rapala jigging raps work great for deep water bassin'. Swimbaits will bring is some hogs after the trout plants. LA sliders Zplugs, Huddlestons, and California Swimbabes are great for big bass. Steven Ekema of San Jacinto caught a 7.56 pound bass fishing with a Huddleston along the east dam. Makayla Ekema of San Jacinto caught a 6.66 pound bass fishing with a Huddleston along the east dam.

TROUT
Trout fishing remains steady at DVL. Shore anglers and boaters pulled in some big fish this week. Mini jigs, nightcrawlers, and Powerbait are the most reported baits. The east shoreline and east dam are the best spots to land a rainbow. Donnie Garnevicus of Hemet caught a 5.33 pound trout fishing with nightcrawlers. Brandon Johnson of Murrieta caught a 6.40 pound trout fishing with a Rapala near restroom 3. Benjamin Rodriguez of Wildomar caught a 4.88 pound trout fishing with rainbow Powerbait near the east dam. John Roth of Sun City caught a 6.24 pound trout fishing with chartreuse Powerbait in the marina cove. Jeff Roth of Sun City caught a 5.27 pound trout fishing with rainbow Powerbait near the east dam.

STRIPER
It was another great week for big stripers. Huddlestons, Zplugs, LA sliders, and Lunker Punkers were just a few of the baits that tricked striper this week. The east dam and the inlet were the top spots for striper. Lee fisher of Temecula caught an 11 pound striper fishing with a Huddleston near the inlet. There were no catfish reports this week. The most common spots are the wave attenuator and near the east dam. Mackerel and anchovies are the best baits for cats.

PANFISH
The panfish bite is on the decline and will continue to drop in conjunction with surface temps. Jigs, nightcrawlers, and, mealworms are typical baits for panfish with the dams being the best spots. ?There was one report of 20 crappie caught near the east dam this week, but declined to give out any more info.
