Most anglers focusing on the beds have found that gravely and sandy areas have been ideal spots to find the spawning fish. There has been some reports of post- spawn and Pre -Spawn fish being caught on crank baits or swim baits off the points. Most bass have been up on beds in the backs of coves or along the dams. Rawson Cove has been the most reported bass cove this week, with the third cove of the shore line fishing area, the north corner of the east dam and around the saddle dam also producing well. Shoreline anglers have had consistent catches, but with less success than the boat anglers. Jeff Harper of Hemet released a 21.75 pound limit totaling 21.75 pounds. He was using swimbaits in Rawson cove. The biggest bass of the week was caught by 10 year old Tabatha Mahoney of Murrieta who was fishing a brush hog near restroom 2.

Trout: Trout fishing has been holding steady this week. Shoreline and boat anglers have been getting limits with Kastmasters, Power Bait and Roostertails being the top baits. The marina has been the top spot for stockers. Holdovers have made appearances on the west dam, east dam, and saddle dam. Most holdover trout have been pulled from 10- 25 feet either by trolling spoons or drifting night crawlers. Brad Smith got a 4.74 pound holdover on the west dam drifting night crawlers at 27 feet. Mike Kim of Chino got a 4.67 pound trout fishing from shore with a mini jig.
