Isabella lake increased this week to 63 percent of its capacity and continues to rise. The crappie bite is on fire, and anglers are coming from all over to get in on the action. Crappie are being found from shore and out in deeper water near structure, anywhere from 5 to 25-feet of water. Our contacts reported scoring slabs with small swimbaits, minijigs and Keitechs in chartreuse, yellow, and white. Anglers also reported scoring limits of fish with small and medium live shiners near the cemetery and Paradise Cove. The bass reaction bite has started to improve. Our contacts reported fooling bass in 5 to 10-feet of water with crankbaits and jerkbaits. Quality fish have been reported just shy of double digits. The trout bite has been excellent with great reports coming from the auxiliary dam. Anglers scored trout with minijigs, garlic scented Powerbait, and spinners. Trollers have score trout to 5 pounds with leadcore followed by Flicker shad, Tasmanian Devils and Needlefish. Whiskerfish have been fooled with SSS Dip Bait, cut mackerel, and frozen shad.
