The water level fluctuates daily at Pyramid, but it has remained close to 86 percent of its storage capacity throughout winter. The lake is still muddy brown from recent storms, but the bass are biting. Anglers used Texas rigged 6” worms, drop shot, and shaky heads to fool bass from right up on shore out to 30 feet deep. Ox Blood, Aaron’s Magic, and Tequila Sunrise were good color choices. The striped bass bite has been on the slow side, but that could improve when the water clears. Striped bass anglers Carolina rigged cut baits and live worms near the inlet for a few fish, and trollers used A-rigs with silver willow blades to attract line-sides over main lake points. Pyramid was stocked on Tuesday and multiple reported catching and releasing over 100 trout. Dropshot bloodworms, power worms and jigs ion pink, chartreuse, orange, and yellow. Trout anglers reported some fish taking dough baits, and finesse plastics intended for bass throughout the lake. Catfish ate chicken liver and cut baits on the long soak.
