The lake held near 79 percent of its capacity, and fishing is improving. Water temps were in the mid-fifties and most of the fish arm is a muddy brown color from all the recent rains. Bass moved into 10 to 30 feet of water with some fish spotted up cruising the banks. Smaller finesse plastics in green pumpkin, brown, and baitfish got attention from the bass, but the spring bite is still a little way off. Striper anglers threw small swimbaits, spoons, and jerks when the line-sides pushed bait to the surface, but that bite has been hit or miss. Cut baits took striped bass and catfish along the dam and the west ramp, and trout anglers fooled rainbows with small jerkbaits, spoons, and dough baits throughout the lake.
