Castaic remained close to 78 percent of its capacity, and fishing has been decent. Bass anglers reported that the large and smallmouth are making their move up shallow, and anglers hooked up using small swimbaits, drop shot, and Carolina rigs. Ox Blood, Green Pumpkin, and bait fish imitations were the best color choices. Striped bass ate cut sardines in 25 to 90 feet of water, and they took trolled flies, jerkbaits, and A-rigs over main lake points. Catfish anglers threw cut sardines, anchovies, and dip bait for decent results, and trout fell for spoons and spinners. Dough baits, Mousetails, and minijigs worked better later in the week.
