Crappie remained the best bet at BV with Scott Treadway landing slabs on his own Get Bent Baits minijigs and swimbaits. Using forward facing sonar has been an excellent way to locate schools of crappie before trying different colors until they bite. Crappie also ate small live minnows. Trout anglers reported slow fishing. We’ll report as soon as the lake plants fresh rainbows. Last week anglers used dough baits, minijigs, spoons, and tube baits to land rainbows. Bass anglers threw drop shot, Senkos, and deep diving crankbaits to entice bites, and catfish anglers used chicken liver, cut baits, and dip bait to fool smaller grade whisker fish.
