The lake fell slightly to 92 percent of capacity, and water temperatures dropped to about seventy degrees. Apart from high wind days fishing has been very good for the first few hours after the lake opened. Stripers and bass chased baitfish throughout the lake with walking baits, poppers, spoons, and Flukes all producing very well. After the morning boils died down striper anglers trolled umbrella rigs and flies until the evening boils. Bass anglers connected in 10 to 20 feet of water along cobblestone banks, bluffs, and points. Drop shot shad imitations, weightless Senkos, and shaky heads all produced well in green pumpkin and baitfish colors. Catfish anglers tossed Carolina rigged dip bait and cut baits for decent results.
