Isabella fell to 62 percent of capacity this week. Anglers reported solid bass action for numbers and few over 5 pounds showing up. Most of the bass are small, but they’ve been biting at a good pace. Football jigs and plastics have been scoring. The top water action has been excellent with most of the fish on the smaller side. The crappie bite picked up this week and anglers are having success with live minnows and minijigs near Engineers, South Fork, and French Gulch. Earlier this week we received reports of larger crappie reacting in 20 to 25-feet of water in the South Fork. The trout bite has been good for the past couple months along the North Fork with various baits. Boaters trolling with leadcore near the Dam dragging Needlefish, Tasmanian Devils or Flicker Shad are connecting. Catfish in good numbers have been showing with frozen shad, Triple S Dip Bait, clams and nightcrawlers.
