Pyramid Lake remained above 90 percent of capacity, and water temperatures were in the low seventies. Grass and algae are starting to grow, and the watercolor is prefect for reaction bait fishing. Bass anglers did well with shad patterned crankbaits, jerkbaits, and topwater lures. The crankbait bite has been good along rocky shores in the mornings, and it has been picking up again in the afternoons. Jerkbaits got bit along wind swept points. Bass also fell for finesse baits and stick baits in 5 to 25 feet of water. Green pumpkin, brown, and light purple all fooled bass. Striper anglers chased boils until about 9am. Anglers found boiling striper in Yellowbar, Serrano, and Brazos. Kastmasters, small swimbaits, and topwater have all been good bait choices for the shad chasing line sides. After the boils died down anglers used cut bait, lugworms, and nightcrawlers to fool striped bass in deeper water. Striper also fell for trolled umbrella rigs on main lake points. Catfish anglers used Triple S dip bait, cut anchovies, and chicken liver to land whisker fish to ten pounds.
