The lake fell to 95 percent of capacity, and water temperatures remained in the low seventies. Anglers reported decent bass fishing on drop shot, stick baits, and Carolina rigs. Small 3-to-4-inch plastics in Natural Shad have been the best bet, but Watermelon and Ox Blood also enticed bites. Anglers reported finding biting bass from 5 to 20 feet deep over submerged brush and along bluff walls. Striped bass anglers found fewer boiling fish as of late, but the bait bite has been good near the buoy line. Anglers used cut sardines and lugworms to land plenty two-to-three-pound line sides. Catfish took dip bait, chicken liver, and garlic scented nightcrawlers in deeper coves around the lake.
