The lake remained at 90 percent of capacity, and water temps fell below sixty degrees. Striper have been the best bet at Pyramid Lake with fish taking cut sardines and lugworms on the long soak. Striper also fell for trolled umbrella rigs and magnum topwater lures. A 22lb striper was reported by a lake regular, and numerous additional double digit striper fell for the same baits. Determined anglers reported throwing the huge offerings on heavy gear all day for a shot at a trophy striped bass. Pyramid was stocked this week with another load of trout. Trout fishing has been steady with biting fish eating Powerbait, minijigs, nightcrawlers, and lures near the marina. Trout were also reported near Serrano and Yellowbar. Bass anglers reported fair fishing in 20 to 40 feet of water with drop shot, Senkos, and Ned rigs. Green Pumpkin, Aaron’s Magic, and Ox Blood have been good color choices. Catfish ate chicken liver, cut sardines, and dip bait.
