WEEK ENDING: 09/25/2022 WATER TEMP: 81-86*F
The heat has snuck back and has been warm these past few days. The boils have been few and far between, but anglers have been managing a few stripers first thing in the morning and later afternoon. Spoons, topwater, and soft swimbaits have been working best for the more active fish.
The bait bite has been steady, and a lot of limits and better sized stripers are being caught. Sardines, anchovies, and lug worms have been doing the trick. Anglers soaking bait and nightcrawlers have also been hooking into some solid catfish.
The trout fishing has been slow since we haven’t had a plant for months and will return to scheduled planting around Halloween.
The bluegill and crappie are starting to bite more with the water level rising and vegetation being submerged.
The lower lagoon has been productive for largemouth and crappie recently.
