Stripers have started to boil during the first few hours of the mornings out towards the Yellowbar Canyon, Chumash Island and Posey cove, biting on various smaller top water baits, kastmasters, and soft plastics. Anglers have also been landing stripers throughout the day down deep on various cut baits like fresh sardines, anchovies, and cut mackerel. Lugworms and Nightcrawlers have also been effective off points using heavier sinkers to manage the currents and winds or weightless presentations to appear more natural when the water is more calm. Bass have been eating on the outside of the grasslines on various soft plastics like senkos and flukes or up top in the morning hours within the grass along the banks. Catfish have been biting very well over the past few weeks on any sort of bait down deep in coves or along the shoreline
