Stripers have been more active over the past week or so, biting more sub-surface baits and top water lures along with spoons and kastmasters up to 60 feet deep. First few hours have been great for lures along rocky banks and steeper drop offs otherwise, cut baits throughout the day have been working well such as cut mackerel and chicken liver or lugworms and nightcrawlers hooked up with a heavier sinker to fish deeper water.

Bass have also been biting more lures early in the day along with various soft plastic baits like senkos, flukes and roborowms for more of a finesse style bite.

Some trout are still being caught on nightcrawlers in deeper water in coves around the lake and past Chumash Island. Catfish have been eating anchovies, sardines, and chicken liver as well, hooked up Carolina style with a heavy sink to manage the winds are current.

Water Temperature: 62 degrees
