The lake held near 85 percent of capacity, and water temperatures have been in the mid-fifties. Striper and trout were the best bets last week, and anglers found plenty of both in the marina. Striper ate cut baits, chicken liver, and blood worms soaked on the bottom. Plenty of catfish have been eating those same baits. Striper also went for trolled umbrella rigs in 30 feet of water off main lake points. Trout fell for dough baits, minijigs, and Kastmasters near the marina, but trout were reported as far as the dam and Yellowbar as well. Bass anglers used finesse baits in deep water for bites, but with warmer afternoons Senkos got picked up in shallow water too. A DD largemouth was reported by an angler throwing deep diving shad patterned crankbaits.
