Pyramid held near 90 percent of capacity, and water temperatures fell into the mid-sixties. Striper and trout have been the best bets lately with anglers filling stringers of both species. The striper went for jerkbaits, topwater, and spoons early in the day, and they ate cut sardines and anchovies at a decent clip for the remainder of the day. Most of the action was reported near the Marina, Yellowbar, and Serrano, but keep an eye out for boiling striper throughout the lake. There was a trout plant last week and anglers showed off limits using dough baits, nightcrawlers, and Kastmasters. The bite died off quickly, but with cooler days ahead there should be more trout to come. Bass anglers reported a tougher bite, but anglers who braved the winds found biters on bluffs, points, and near the dying weed beds. Senkos, drop shot, and weedless offerings all worked for bites, but small swimbaits, crankbaits and jerkbaits took plenty of bass as well. Catfish anglers reported another solid week of fishing using chicken liver, cut baits, and dip bait in deeper coves and in the marina channel.
