The fishing report for this past week only covers Monday through Thursday due to the Temecula Valley Balloon and Wine Festival, which closed the lake down to fishing Friday through Sunday. Before the start of the festival, striper had shown signs of improvement. Inlet and dam still the best areas and cut anchovies still seem to be the best bait. Largemouth were still biting as well off of dark plastics along the reed lines early in the morning and late in the afternoon. Cats are still a bit shy, but some are starting to bite around Ramp #2 and the Inlet, mackerel seems to be the top bait for them. Carp seem to be fairly busy in the reed lines as well, hitting worms and dough balls

These are the following fish report:

Bass: Good with an Average size of 3 lbs.
Bluegill: Fair
Carp: Good with an Average size of 6-8lbs.
Catfish: Fair
Crappie: Poor
Striper: Good with an Average size of 2-3lb.
Trout: Poor

Top fish was an 11 lbs. beauty caught at the inlet off of a night crawler. Dark plastics and worms seem to b producing the best along the South shore, Ramp #2 area and the East end. Striper still...... Read More
