The water temperature and weather has remained perfect for an extra stocking. Laguna Niguel Lake will be planting a total of 3,000 lbs of our Emerald Trout, Golden Trout and Rainbow Trout.
Laguna Niguel Lake has extended hours:
6am ??? 8pm / 7 days
Boat Hours: Monday ??? Wednesday / 6am ??? 4pm
Boat Hours: Thursday ??? Sunday / 6am ??? 6pm
Laguna Niguel Lake will be having a Spring Break Special starting Monday, March 30, 2009 thru April 12, 2009 Easter Sunday. Laguna Niguel Lake will be offering $10 off All Day Boat Rentals!
The best fishing spots this past week from the boats have been in front of the dock, the far bubble hole in front of the dock, three pipes, the flats, the small island and down by the dam. By the last statement anglers have been lucky throughout the entire lake!
The best fishing spots from the shore have been next to the concession building to the point and at the launch ramp.
The best baits to use have been spring green power bait, chartreuse and rainbow power bait, power mouse in multiple colors, night crawlers inflated with garlic scent, chartreuse, flat orange, white and bubble gum colored power worms, and silver kastmasters.
Nick Cahanding from Oceanside landed a nice 5.5 lbs Golden Trout. He was using a power mouse at the launch ramp.
Doug Vedvick from Culver City landed a nice 5.5 Golden hook-jaw. He was fishing at the ramp using chartreuse power bait.
Olivia N. from Manhattan Beach landed a nice 4 lbs Rainbow. She was fishing at the point using chartreuse power bait.
Chelsea Mendoza from Mission Viejo landed her first fish of the season. The beautiful Golden Trout weighed in at a whopping 1.5 lbs! She was using rainbow power bait fishing off a boat at the dock.
Fly fishermen have been doing well in the flats, at the small island and 3 pipes with a 10-12 inch leader. The olive and black midges are the best this past week.
This past weekend there must have been a lot of people in witness protection! Nobody wanted their pictures taken for the website! If you have a fish of any size, make and color please stop by the lake front store to weigh in and have your picture taken for the website. Be proud to show off your catch!
