Catfish - Anglers are reporting great to excellent catfishing with the latest stocking of 1,500 lbs on Monday, May 18. Catfish are in the range of 1.5 - 4lbs in size. The best fishing spots from a boat have been in the flats and from shore by the launch ramp. The best baits to use have been mackerel, night crawlers with garlic scent, chicken livers, shrimp and Berkley dough. Laguna Niguel Lake will also be stocking an additional 1,000 lbs of catfish 1-5 lbs on Monday, June 15.

Bass - The bass fishing has been good to fair weighing in at 1.5 - 3lbs. The best fishing spots for the bass have been at the large island, three pipes, and the back side. The best baits to use have been nigh crawlers, crank baits, spinners, drop-shot & Texas rigged dark colored plastics and early morning top water.

Bluegill & Crappie - Little anglers are having a blast with all the little bluegill all over the lake. Meal worms and night crawlers are the best baits along with tube jigs in white & chartreuse

Trout - Anglers are still catching trout - wow! Trout are also no limit - keep all you catch. The trout have been productive in the inlet using night crawlers inflated with garlic oil and Berkley Power worms in the chartreuse, flat orange, bubblegum and white, and chartreuse power bait.
