With the recent trout plants on December 6th and 13th, tons of trout have been caught from the shoreline and throughout the marina on various baits. Many angels have been using smaller lures or spinner baits to catch trout but also have had great luck using nightcrawlers and powerbait as well as bait and wait style. Stripers have also bene pretty active throughout the lake bitting on kastmasters, Alabama rigs, swimbaits, and other surface baits. Trolling has been effective to search the lake and get bit around Chumash Island up into Yellowbar canyon and throughout the marina as well. Both largemouth and smallmouth bass have also been biting well along the shorelines over the past week with all the active in the water. Some anglers have had luck using swimbaits, and kastmasters, but soft plastic setups have been most effective overall.
