We had another great trip aboard Captain Bobby Valney's Seabiscuit out of Captain Hook's Sportfishing in Oxnard. Captain Bobby always has special destinations up his sleeve for the outer island overnight trips especially when the bait tanks are already loaded with live squid! On this overnight trip the decision was made to fish San Miguel Island. We raffled off some great prizes from Fishworks and we headed straight to our destination.
As the anglers woke up to a calm morning at San Miguel, we began fishing right away with some promising signs of life on the sonar. We began the day with a mixed bag including a nice twenty-three pound White Seabass caught by SFR regular Lee O'neil. We head toward the south side of the island and loaded up our bags with huge Reds and some grumpy San Miguel Whitefish. You couldn't ask for a better day of fishing as we enjoyed another great day out on the water with our good friends aboard this charter.
The Seabiscuit is a very comfortable fishing vessel. Captain Bobby's Crew did an outstanding job and I'm looking forward to our next trip aboard the Seabiscuit. Check out their schedule on Captain Hook's website. You can even book your trip online! That's the word from San Miguel.
