Recently there has been more and more sighting of shad. Some fish have been seen boiling on the bait occasionally as a result. The bait is still really small so things haven’t quite yet started, but there has been a handful of anglers lucky enough to fins some boils, mainly on the fish arm. Topwater, flukes and some reaction baits have been working best. The majority of angler shave been using bait such as sardines, anchovies and lug worms. There haven’t been too many limits to reports but a dew per angler seem to be the census. Largemouth and smallmouth fishing has picked up slowly and most catch have been coming on plastics worms. Some reaction fish have been reported as well. The catfish have been soaking more on an appearance as of late and most fish have been caught on mackerel, chicken livers and garlic nightcralwers. The bluegill and crappie have pick up and angler shave been managing limits. Mealworms, waxworks and pieces of nightcrawler have been working for most with the best crappie fishing being down at the lower lake.
