The stripers have slowed down a little bit at Castaic. If you can find schools in 40 to 75ft they will bite spoons and ice jigs. The largemouth and smallmouth bass have been biting a variety of lures and plastics. The bass are still chasing bait in the mornings and evenings. Small lures and flukes have been working best on the bass boils. Catfish and bluegill have slowed a bit, but, guys are still catching some catfish on mackerel and nightcrawlers.

The striper boils have pretty much ended. People are still catching stripers on swimbaits and spoons in 40 to 70ft. The largemouth bass are biting good on a variety of baits. Most bass are being bcaught in 15 to 40 ft. Bluegill and catfish have been slow. We should be receiving a trout plant this week. ...... Read More

Fishing at Castaic is good. The largemouth bass are boiling in the back of coves with a few stripers mixed in, mostly in the mornings. A few swimbait stripers were caught in the last week after our first trout plant. Catfish has been slow for most but some guys are catching them on anchovies and night crawlers.
