The stripers at Castaic are biting well. Look for boils in the mornings. Topwater and other shad pattern lures. Stripers are also biting sardines and bloodworms in 50 to 100ft. The largemouth and smallmouth bass are biting topwater and other reaction baits in the mornings and evenings. Plastic worms have been working for bass in 5 to 25ft. The bluegill are biting good on waxworms, mealworms and small plastics. The catfish bite has been slow.

Fishing at Castaic is very good right now. Bigger stripers have been boiling at bouy line and around the lake. Stripers have also been biting bloodworms and sardines. Most stripers are 6 to 8 lbs with a few double digits mixed in. The largemouth and smallmouth bass are chasing shad. Fishing at Castaic is good right now. Good size stripers are boiling in the mornings and evenings. Stripers are also biting on sardines and bloodworms in 30 to 75 ft deep.
