Fishing at Castaic is good right now. Stripers, largemouth and smallmouth bass have been boiling on shad in the mornings and evenings. Stripers have been caught on bloodworms and lugworms lately in 30 to 75ft. The bluegil bite is still very good. Most bluegil are being caught in shallow brush on wax worms, meal worms and a variety of little crappie jigs.

Fishing at Castaic has slowed a bit this week.The water has a little algae bloom that has affected the boils a little. Stripers and bass are still boiling here and there in the mornings. Stripers are starting to bite bloodworms in 40 to 75 ft. Plastic worms and shad pattern lures have been working for largemouth and smallmouth bass. The bluegil bite has been very good.
