Fishing at Castaic has slowed a bit this week. The water has a little algae bloom that has affected the boils a little. Stripers and bass are still boiling here and there in the mornings. Stripers are starting to bite bloodworms in 40 to 75 ft. Plastic worms and shad pattern lures have been working for largemouth and smallmouth bass. The bluegil bite has been very good. Most bluegill are being caught on wax worms and bobbers. The catfish is picking up. Nightcrawlers and cutbait have been working best for catfish.
