There have been many questions in regards to how the drought has affected Diamond Valley Lake, and what the future outcome will be. Many people are receiving false information from unreliable sources; therefore we have decided to clarify some of these frequently asked questions.

FAQ's:

- How far down is the water level from full capacity?
The water elevation is 1756 when full. We are currently at 1658.26 which leaves us at 97.74 feet down.

- Is Diamond Valley Lake closed to the public?
We are closed to private boaters but we are still open for boat rentals, shoreline fishing, and the lakeview trail is still accessible.

- Is the launch ramp going to be extended?
Yes, Metropolitan Water District will be extending the launch ramp by 120 feet. Although, this doesn't mean that we will open the launch ramp right away since the water level may exceed past the 120 ft extension. Completion of the extension is expected in late November.

- Where does the water go?
We are a water reservoir for San Diego County.

- When will Diamond Valley Lake get more water?
It all depends on the amount of rain and snow that northern California gets since our water supply comes from the Delta.
