The passed week has been tough for some anglers, but a few successful fishermen reported bringing in some channel cats between 1lb and 2.5lbs. Catfish are still the top bite of the week and continue to bite primarily on cut mackerel and nightcrawlers, although a few were brought in on pink tube jigs near the boat house outside of the marina. The bass were not under much pressure this week but some small mouth were found just off E point and along the bank of Santa Cruz Bay. Rips baits in the early morning seemed to be the only consistent way to hook them this week.
