Last week continued to be steady fishing week with catfish as the top bite yet again. Several fishermen reported consistent bites in the back of coves and along the murky banks with the majority of bites triggered by the of cut mackerel and dough baits. Johnson bay and Cachuma bay continue to produce fish for boaters while the boat launch area was the go-to spot from th shore. The small mouth bite has started to pick up with the bigger fish being caught in 15-20 ft of water off the banks towards the east end of the lake. Berkley flicker shad rip-baits seemed to attract the smallies, with the smaller size 6 pearl white and racy shad as the hot colors. Holdover trout haven't started hitting consistently but are seen jumping in the morning. Crappie are still slow on the troll but tube jigs are getting there attention.

Carp can still be found on the bank and in backs of cuts and coves. One angler reported that there were bluegill underneath the courtesy...... Read More

The bass fishing has been day by day, with the best action late in the afternoon on reaction baits on main lake points. Carp are all over the...... Read More
