Good Trout fishing still on tap for those flat lining Rapala's, flicker shad's, and kastmasters from Santa Cruz point to Cachuma point, and from Little Cachuma, to the dam. Several nice limits were checked in to the marina last week, as anglers enjoyed great weather and little angling pressure. The bass bite slowly turning on, with largemouth taking jigs, and drop shot. Smallmouth should start to move soon as days are getting a bit longer and water temps. climb. Crappie made a bit of a showing last week, as several anglers picked up a few incidental slabs. Carp are really starting to come on and have been spotted all over the lake. Late morning, and early afternoon hours the best time to target the buglemouths.

Bluegill: Poor

Carp: Good
Avg. Size: 8 lbs

Catfish: Poor

Crappie: Fair
Avg. Size: 1.5 lbs.

Trout: Good
Avg. Size: 1.5 lbs

It was another good week of trout fishing, and many anglers enjoyed limit style action with fish to 8 lbs. Trout fishing was good last week as almost all boaters seemed to get into some quality fish. Trolling the North shore using Rapalas, Kastmasters, and Yo-Zuri pins minnows was the ticket to success. Another good area was the rock walls between Cachuma Bay, and Santa Cruz Bay. Those fishing from shore were connecting on E point and the area to the right of the launch ramp.
