BASS
Anglers are still digging deep for largemouth. 30-60 feet of water is the common depth range for bass. Fishing points and steep banks all over the lake scraped up a few bass this week. The Carolina rig, the drop shot, spoons, swimbaits, and ice jigs got some great fish. Brush Hogs and reapers worked well for the Carolina rig. Margarita mutilator, oxblood and bold bluegill finesse worms worked for the drop shot.
STRIPER
Stripers are slowly making there way! We have seen a few 20 lb + stripers this week. Using lures in the rainbow trout and brown trout pattern have been extremely productive. Flies are also still producing some nice stripers. Justin Park, pictured from Hemet caught a monster 20.53lb striper on the left of the marina. Enter into our Striper derby for only $10.00 running from 12/22/12-1/6/13!
CATFISH
There have been no catches of catfish this week. Typical bait for the cats are nightcrawlers, chicken liver and shrimp.
TROUT
Trout are still going strong! Browns are being caught with nightcrawlers. Rainbows have been coming in from people using powerbait and powerworms. We had three trout weighing in a total of 15.81 lbs.
PANFISH
Redear , crappie and blue gills have been missing in action. Most common bait is mealworms, redworms, and nightcrawlers.
