Fishing Action by Species
Trout: Action has been slow with only a few fishermen having success. The trout have been averaging 1.5 to 2.5 lbs with some bigger reported. Joe Flores, of Fontana, caught a 5.0 lb and 3.5lb trout while using rainbow power bait at the spillway. Best baits that have been fairly productive have been rainbow and chartreuse power bait.
Catfish: Some quality cats up to 5.5lbs have continued to be reported by fishermen still targeting cats with shrimp.
Largemouth Bass: no reports
Crappie: no reports
Bluegill/Redear: no reports
Carp: no reports
***Note: California State fishing license is required for those 16 years of age and older. Hard bottom boats up to 16 ft without gas engines are allowed. Lake will be stocked with 1,000 lbs each week through April.
