The weather at Lake Skinner has been mild with temperatures in the low 80's. Since the water temperatures are cooling the catfish and bluegill bite has slowed down. However, if you fish the early morning hours in the launch ramp 2 area you can still catch kitties using chicken liver, nightcrawlers or plastic worms. Even though the bluegill and crappie bite has slowed there are still reports of catches being made at the inlet and dam areas. The best bait has been to use jigs and mealworms.

Stripers are being caught by trollers in the early morning hours in the middle of the lake or in summer's cove. Daniel Bornkamp, pictured caught a 17 lb. Striper on a top water lure. Gary Smith caught a 19 lb. catfish at the East end using a mackerel. Finally Kyla Cordill caught a 2 lb. Bluegill at launch ramp 2 using nightcrawlers.

The trout plant will start November 9, 2012.
