Trout fishing went off again last week, with rainbows to 6 lbs. weighed in at the marina. Trolling leadcore down to 7 or 8 colors with dodger/crawler combos in the morning and drifting worms the rest of the day around the dam was the ticket.

Bass fishing has been decent with topwaters early, crankbaits, dropshots and jigs working later. Fish are scattered from 2' to 20' in the water column. Catfish are still coming in on cut mackerel and doughbaits in most coves of the lake. Crappie action is fair in the narrows and Cachuma Bay on mini jigs and mealworms. Bow fishing is also good in the early morning in front of Clark canyon and along the buoys at the dam. Bluegill has been on the slow side, but some better fish are being caught on red worms and gulp maggots.
