Upper lake WATER TEMP: 66 Degrees
Lower Lagoon WATER TEMP: 64 Degrees
Last Plant: The Department of Fish and Game last stocked the Main ramp of the Upper Lake on April 26th
The stripers have shown a little interest in shallower waters the past week. Anglers have caught stripers, ranging from 2 to 5 pounds, on night crawlers and frozen shad from the main launch ramp area. Other anglers have caught a few stripers on super flukes near Sharron's rest.
Kong Island and the buoy line have been great spots to drop an anchovy or sardine to catch a catfish. The largemouth are still going after plastics and night crawlers. Hawks Nest and Utopia are still great coves to hit up for easy bass. Dry Gulch also opened this weekend from being closed for two months for spawning; this will most likely be a very great spot for largies after the busy holiday weekend. The lagoon has been awesome in the late evening into the night for the largies. Robo worms and some small swimbaits are still working great all along the shoreline and near the spillway. The fishing pier has had a lot catfish activity recently; anglers have been snagging them up using garlic nightcrawlers.
