Robby Chor of San Pedro weighed in a 11 lb. 05 oz. trout using an orange/white power mouse in Zone off the shoreline. Erwin Le-Blanc of San Clemente used a yellow power worm to catch a 11 lb. trout in Zone 2 off the shoreline. Another 14 trout in the 5 to 9 lb. class were also weighed in at the scales last week!!
An incredible week for MONSTER trout!! Cooling temperatures have made for awesome trout fishing conditions at the lake. Trout fishing has been 'wide open' the first couple days after a stocking with 5 fish limits being caught in less than an hour! Fishing continues to be good through the weekend due to the heavy stockings of trout the past 8 weeks. PowerBait in any color seems to be working along with inflated night crawlers dipped in garlic scent. Bait fisherman are using short leaders with the majority of fish coming from shallow water. Orange, Chartreuse and White trout worms, jigs and crank baits working well for those throwing artificial. Fly fisherman continue to hammer fish in the flats using bead head midges in black and red patterns. Water temp is currently 54 degrees with 6 - 8' visibility.
