Upper Lake Water Temperature: Mid 50's
Lower Lagoon Water Temperature: Low 50's
DFG Trout Plants: The Department of Fish & Game stocked the lake on Thursday January 4th with 2,700 lbs. of rainbow trout at the West Launch Ramp.
Fishing lately has been kind of hit or miss at the upper lake but the lower lagoon has been doing fairly well for Largemouth. Striper fishing has been a little on the slow side if you are using swimbaits or cut bait. A few stripers have been reported on cut bait near Kong Island and back at the buoy line. The largemouth have been hanging out in the coves around 35 to 40 feet deep and biting off of jigs and worms. Some anglers are throwing top water and having luck with bigger fish but are not coming out with a high number of bass. The bass at the lagoon are also biting on worms sand jigs as well and the night bite has been doing very well.
Lots of trout are being caught at the west ramp; powerbait, nightcrawlers and little gold Kastmasters have been working great on the rainbows.
