Corona Lake trout anglers have seen almost non-stop trout action this whole season, and as more and more rainbows stockpile in the lake from the weekly plants, the bite just seems to keep getting better and better. Full, five-fish stringers of trout from 1 1/2 to three pounds have been the rule this past week, and holiday plants of trophy fish are sure to add even more quality rainbows to those catches.

The biggest rainbow reported at the tackle shop this past week was a 5 1/2-pounder landed by Veronica Coffey, Corona, fishing a green dough bait at the dam. Tim Davis, Riverside, landed a 5 1/4-pound rainbow on chartreuse dough bait to top off his five-fish, 16 1/2-pound limit from shore.

Other typical catches included a 10-fish stringer posted by Loren Tilburg and Loren II, both from Chino, that weighed in at 25 1/2 pounds with a 4 1/2-pounder the best trout. They were fishing nightcrawlers from shore. Ben Sanders, Mike Gorta, Jese Marquez, and Victor Solis, of Corona and Pomona, landed 12 rainbows for 25 pounds on rainbow floating bait from a boat, and their big fish was a 4 1/2-pounder. Bob Barr, Tustin, landed five rainbows for 15 pounds, including a 4 1/2-pounder, while Andrew Daily, Vista, have five trout for 13 1/2-pounds with a four-pounder his top fish.

Trout plants, including bonus stocks of trophy rainbows over 10 pounds for Christmas and New Year's weekends, will be going in each week, assuring this hot action doesn't slow down.
