Trout anglers at Corona Lake continue to see excellent trout action thanks to heavy weekly stocks of rainbows. With the Christmas holiday and kids off school, there will be a boost in plants for the rest of the month, including even more plants of trophy class fish.

The bite has been equally good on baits and lures. Many anglers are fishing floating dough baits or nightcrawlers doused with scent and just as many are fishing the small trout jigs or trout worms. The trout don't seem to care too much and are filling stringers for everyone.

The top rainbow reported this past week was a 9 1/2-pounder that topped a 19 1/2-pound, five-fish catch by Sam Choi, San Diego, fishing from a float tube. He had the five fish before 10:30 a.m. Chyanne Brooklyn, Perris, landed an eight-pound rainbow to top off her four-fish, 14-pound stringer. One of the top stringers of the week was a 13-fish, 28-pound catch made by Edgar Wilson, Johnny Brant, and Allen Polk, all Compton, fishing from a boat with a chartreuse floating bait.
