2,000 pounds of trout will be stocked on Tuesday November 29th 2011
Trout fishing was "wide open" the first couple days after Tuesday's stocking. Float tubers on Wednesday reported catch and releasing 30 to 50 fish!! Shore fisherman had 5 fish limits in less than an hour!!...By Friday there were trout being caught but the fishing had slowed down due to large crowds each day. Trout are chewing just about everything!...Power Bait, Night Crawlers, Tube Jigs and trout worms dipped in garlic have all been working well. Some big fish caught on crank baits such as the Norman and Mirror Shad. Fly fisherman are doing well with black and silver bead head midges in the flats.
DUE TO THE INCREASE IN FISHERMAN...LAGUNA NIGUEL LAKE IS WORKING ON ADDITIONAL STOCKINGS OF TROUT EVERY FRIDAY!!
We will inform everyone as soon as we get confirmation.
Big trout of the week goes to James Collin of Cypress, in main photo along with Robert Nguyen with a 9lb 0oz throwing a orange and white mirror shad in the flats via his float tube. Chris Pihl of Huntington Beach also weighed in a 9lb 0oz trout that was caught on rainbow power bait in the flats off a rental boat. Robert Nguyen of Garden Grove nailed a 8lb 15oz trout throwing a Norman Baby N crank bait in the flats off his float tube. Andy Galaviz of Arcadia topped off his 5 fish limit with an 8lb 12oz trout that hit a "Fire Tiger" Trout King jig in the flats off his float tube. Reginald Walter of Carson weighed in a 8lb 05oz trout using hatchery pellets in Zone 1. Dozens of 4lb to 7lb trout were also weighed in at the scales last week.
