Stripers are still in a little bit of a slump. There is still shad stacked up everywhere all over the lake. The west ramp seems to be where most of the shad are calling home and the stripers are occasionally boiling in the mornings and evenings. Kong Island, Sharron's Rest and Government Cove are still the best places to spot the striper boils. Top water baits like spooks and sammies are working great on boils. When they aren't boiling kastmaster and other spoons are bring them up from deeper waters.

The largies are still biting biting very well all throughout the fish arm. Some spinners and buzz baits are working pretty well in the morning and live shad is the best bet for an awesome day of fishing. Elizabeth Cyn, Alligator cove and Utopia have been fantastic spots for largies over the past week.

The Buoy line and Necktie Cyn have been two good spots for the cats lately. Mackerel and sardines are working great but some anglers are getting lucky and pulling in some bigger cats with chicken liver.

Flukes Berkeley minnows and spooks are still working on the stripers. If you can net shad its pretty much a guaranteed catch. The shad can still be found around the marinas and in most of the coves. The bigger Shad are a little deeper but some shad are around...... Read More
