BASS
Bass are boiling in the mornings. Throwing spooks and other topwater lures first thing have been productive. Scroungers, flukes, and other shad imitation plastics have still been working great. Most of the fish were caught by drop shotting or texas rigging plastic worms. Oxblood, purple and shad colored plastics are still getting those bass! The majority of reports have been limits of fish that are 1-3 lbs. Bigger fish are being caught in 20-30 ft of water. Shad are along the south shore as well as some areas on the north side of the lake.
STRIPER
Many reports of fishermen getting their limits this week. Stripers are still boiling in the early mornings. Cut bait such as, anchovies or sardines, have been most productive. Some of the catches reported this week caught trolling white flies or spoons on leadcore, 4-6 colors out. Four year old Kaden Allen (in picture above) caught an 8.18 lb striper (with the help of his dad, Mike Allen) near the west dam.
CATFISH
Catfish are biting on anchovies, mackerel, night crawlers, and chicken liver. Shore fishermen have had some luck in the second and third cove. Juan(17) and Danny Cerda(16) of Mira Loma caught two catfish, 4 and 7 lbs.
PANFISH
Limits of bluegill and redear were reported, all caught on mealworms, crickets, or night crawlers. Few crappie reported this week.
TROUT
No trout reports as of lately.
