BASS
Bass are still boiling in the early mornings. Scroungers and flukes are even more productive this week! A majority of the reports include limits of 1-5lb fish. Most of the fish were caught by drop shotting or texas rigging plastic worms. Morning Dawn, Margarita Mutilator, Oxblood and shad colored plastics are still working very well. Bigger fish are being caught in 20-30 ft of water. Shad are starting to show along the north shore as well as some areas on the south side of the lake.
STRIPER
Striper fishing is doing a lot better! Many limits of Striper reported this week. Stripers are boiling in the early mornings. Our lake regulars have been pre-fishing for our Striper King Classic happening on August 27th, they have been scoring limits of stripers on cut bait (anchovies, sardine), and trolled shad-like imitations. Come to the marina and buy your Striper King Classic ticket now! Some of the catches reported this week were caught on spoons or trolling flys on leadcore 4-6 colors out. Four year old, Elise Chhour landed an 11.5 lb Striper on cut bait! Her father, Meang Chhour was very proud.
CATFISH
Many Catfish 5-10lbs reported this week. The bigger ones were all caught on sardines and anchovies. Catfish are still biting on mackerel, night crawlers, and chicken liver. Shore fishermen have had some luck in the third cove.
PANFISH
Limits of bluegill and redear caught on mealworms, crickets, and night crawlers. Not too many signs of crappie.
TROUT
No trout reports as of lately.
