There were a lot of limits of Silver King channel cats at Corona Lake this past week during the evening and night bite with the fish feeding throughout the full moon period.

Carlos and Selena Carranza, Rialto, posted on of the best 24-hour, 15-fish catfish stringers this past week, landing 29 1/2 pounds of fish up to 4 1/2 pounds fishing shrimp in the flooded trees at the back end of the lake. Mark Thomas, Riverside, landed 13 cats for 28 pounds, and his top fish was also a 4  ? pounder. He was fishing nightcrawlers off J.D.'s Point. Kevin Salgado, Hesperia, had four cats for 10  ? pounds on shrimp from shore. The week's top cat goes to Jose Botella, Fullerton, who landed a nine-pounder fishing at the dam with the marshmallow-meal worm combo.

Besides the excellent catfish action, there has been a good bite on the tilapia, along with a few bluegill, bass, and crappie. And the odd big sturgeon continues to be caught. The catfish are being planted every Tuesday and Friday, with trophy broodstock cats a component of the Friday plant each week. Tilapia are also added each week.
