Bass fishing has been good for those plying the deeper ledges and drop-offs. Texas rigs, drop shot and jigs are accounting for most of the fish. Trolling has been fair to good near the dam, and drifting nightcrawlers, or trolling lead core to 4 to 5 colors with dodger/crawler combos have been the most productive techniques.

Crappie and holding in 15 to 20 feet of water, and are taking mini-jigs and small spinners. The Narrows, Cachuma Bay and Santa Cruz Bay have been the best areas.

Catfish have been active and mackerel, chicken liver, and packaged dough baits are all working in the backs of shallow coves.

Bow fishing for Carp has slowed a bit, as the fish are not feeding on top as of late, although there was a 15.5 lb. bugle mouth taken last week.

Bluegill have been abundant, as well as a few redear in the tules in Stork or Jackrabbit Flats. Meal worms and redworms have been the baits of choice.
