Trout fishing has been fair, with most anglers coming in with a handful of quality hold-over rainbows. Still fishing in the narrows with inflated "crawlers or PowerBait" was the hot ticket, although there were some nice catches on trolled worms/dodger combos behind 3 to 4 colors of lead core.
Crappie still have not completely gone off as of yet, but there was as many as 10 fish per angler in some locations. However those locations were not disclosed.
The bass bite slowed, and windy afternoons coupled with the cold front put the bass into lock jaw mode, but early mornings have produced some action on senkos, shallow cranks and jigs.
Bow fishing for carp has been good and there were several double digit numbers reported last week. A handful of cats and redear were caught as well, but not enough to generate any excitement. The shad that was up recently has disappeared, but could show up any time.

Most fish are in the top 5 ft. of the water column. There have been shad up tight and dippable at least twice last week, and if you can get a hold of that it should be good for all species. Trout fishing was fair and the cooler weather had the 'bows...... Read More
Cachuma Lake is warming up and so is the fishing
Cachuma LakeAlmost all species have been hitting. Bass are being caught in almost any cove with creature baits, texas rigs, blades and shallow cranks. There were several limits of trout taken as well, and trollers using lead core 3 to 4 colors with dodger/crawler or dodger/needlefish combos. Best areas were the dam, in front of Johnsons, and Harveys Bay. Shore anglers did well on e point, with Powerbait the top producer. Crappie showed up back in the narrows...... Read More
